Reduce trash with this fun craft that you can make using leftover plastic food containers!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First look for the recycling symbol on the plastic – this project only works with #6 plastic (there will be a small 6 inside the triangle symbol).\u00a0 These are typically the clear plastic containers you can find at salad bars or for take-out food. \u00a0<\/span>Make sure the plastic is clean!<\/span><\/p>\n

Use permanent markers to draw on the plastic.\u00a0 <\/span>Then cut around the shape.\u00a0 <\/span>Even the bent edges of the plastic container will work!<\/span><\/p>\n

If desired, punch a hole in the plastic so there will be a place to thread string or a key ring when the project is done.<\/span><\/p>\n

Place the plastic on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.\u00a0 <\/span>Place the sheet in a preheated oven set to 350 degrees.\u00a0 <\/span>WATCH the plastic – the change will happen very quickly.\u00a0 <\/span>Within about 1-3 minutes, the plastic will curl and begin to shrink.\u00a0 <\/span>Within one more minute, the plastic will flatten again and your project is done.<\/span><\/p>\n
