Teams at Noggin Builders<\/h2>\n

Teams at Noggin Builders are a structured program for your child to build creative problem solving skills, collaboration, and STEM skills while having fun and making friendships.<\/h4>\n

Team members improve resiliency, flexible thinking, and communication skills.\u00a0 Combined with the real-life S.T.E.M. skills we will use to solve challenges, these are the building blocks that will help today\u2019s children grow into tomorrow\u2019s future leaders.<\/h4>\n

Destination Imagination (DI)<\/h2>\n

DI teams work together to solve a complex STEM Challenge and present their STEM work through an 8-minute team created performance.\u00a0 They also showcase their creative problem solving and teamwork in an Instant Challenge.<\/p>\n

DI Team Quick Facts:<\/strong><\/span>
– Open to grades 2nd-12th
– DI teams meet September through May, regardless of tournament advancement
– Practices are 2 hours per week; typically 4-6pm for younger teams and 6-8pm for older teams
– You can preference your practice day, although best team fit is the priority
– While we do allow teammate requests, we carefully evaluate the best fit for each child and believe that best overall team fit is most important<\/h4>\n

2nd & 3rd Graders:<\/span>
DI Team Prep Level is our introductory program for DI Team. This program helps your child build skills and prepare for the competitive level. Click here for more details!<\/a>\u00a0 No tryout required; attendance at information meeting recommended.<\/a><\/p>\n

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DI TEAMS AT NOGGIN BUILDERS:<\/h4>\n

4th -12th Graders:<\/span>
(Only for new team members; returning team members do not attend.)
1) Parent \/ guardian must attend an information meeting
2) Child must attend a tryout (unless they are currently enrolled in DI Team Prep Level)<\/p>\n

2nd-3rd Graders:<\/span>
Enrollment is open to any 2nd-3rd grader; registration will be available online in early June.<\/p>\n

Teams at Noggin Builders are a structured program for your child to build problem solving skills, teamwork and creativity while having fun and making friendships.  He\/she will also improve patience, flexibility and communication.  Combined with real-life S.T.E.M. skills we will be using to solve challenges, these are the building blocks that will help today\u2019s children grow into tomorrow\u2019s future leaders.<\/p>\n

Noggin Builders manages Destination Imagination (DI) teams and VEX Robotics teams for grades 3-5, 6-8, and HS.<\/p>\n

If you are interested in joining a DI or Robotics team, please contact us to be placed on the wait list.<\/h3>\n

TEAM Annual Calendar:<\/h4>\n
    \n \t
  • Spring Session: DI - For current or new team members!  This class is a great way for current team members to sharpen skills before next season and a great way for new team members to get a jump start and build skills<\/li>\n \t
  • Spring Session: Robotics - required<\/span> for team participation<\/li>\n \t
  • April: Informational Meetings (At least one parent must attend for your child to be eligible for a team if you have not been on a team before. Children are welcome to attend the meeting.)<\/li>\n \t
  • April: DI Evaluation Days (All children new to DI at Noggin Builders must participate in an evaluation day or attend DI Club; Robotics team members do not attend evaluations)<\/li>\n \t
  • May: Robotics teams are formed and begin work!!<\/li>\n \t
  • June: DI Teams are formed<\/li>\n \t
  • Summer: Robotics - teams will work during the summer (schedule created around other summer commitments)<\/li>\n \t
  • September: DI - Practices begin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
